What is your opinion in regards to Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick being known as the mother of all concept albums

Passion Play was another great album......or is this one the mother!!!!!

For many years the band I loved the most was Jethro Tull, I bought all LPs before "A", The First JT album I bought was Thick as a Brick. It´s one of my favorite albums but I if had to point to the greatest concept album of all time I´d point to "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway".

Thick as a Brick is a great concept album. but i have heard Ian himself say that Thick as a Brick is actually a joke album. making fun of concept albums that were coming out at that time. still a great album regardless, but i have to agree with peco on this one "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" is one of the best ever

Also the interview on the 25th Anniversary Special Edition CD has some interesting points on how they´ve recorded, composed and joined parts in one piece music. In this respect, as one of the first "one piece music concept albums" it´s the mother of all.
