Artist & designer for more than 30 years, and still trying to get it right. Music, especially prog, jazz & experimental have been major influences in my visual work. I read recently that some of what I like is now called "Post Rock" so yeah, that too.

My design site, I don't keep it updated. It has never really played much of a role in my job as a web designer, but I use the email address.

I hope you did´t mind the comment max...
I found a video of a great song I used to hear in 1994/95... I think you´ll like that.

Dead Can Dance - The Carnival Is Over

you mean like everyone using masks to celebrate the Day of The Dead?
that would be cool as people always tend to hide themselves from the dead. right?
- I grab a documentary on web about Carl Jung, (I have a copy here, yes...) ...
.. the documentary shows a carnival event similar to those that fascinated Carl when he was a child. That´s the most expressive masks I ever saw.
As for the "Land of Carnival", or "Carnaval" as know here, the place were the huge event (3 days + / 24h a day) happens is in Rio and Bahia. I live in the south, people here don´t feel very comfortable dancing in the streets... lol...
... some great, highly creative and artistic stuff can be seen on TV broadcasts every year, lots of great ideas specially on Rio´s Carnival. let me know what exactly you have in mind and maybe I can collect some stuff that can help you with your event!

Thanks Max for being around from time to time (since the very beginning of this network). You´re always adding some sense of humor and wise comments to "help us" to shake some stupid misconceptions created by decades of collective hypnosis. haha..
.. Thinking back that was (an continues to be) one of the main points of "ProgRock" network and prog rock in my own life, the changeable, rich expression forms, timeless and eclectic nature of it! it carries a message of how real opened minded people (artists) could make use of a wider spectrum of music and visual expression possibilities as well as think about the sometimes meaningless "times" we are living in from other POVs.
Thanks a lot!! keep posting your ideas, artists, bands, comments, suggestions and whatever you like to share!
all the best !!

Hey Max, Great list. Nice to see "In a Glass House" mentioned on the same page as Don Cab. I suppose you've heard of This Heat?

I searched for "I Sing the Body Electric". Of course you mean the Weather Report Album of 1972, for sure inspired by one (or all) of the following (from wikipedia):
# I Sing the Body Electric (Whitman), an 1855 poem from Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman.
# I Sing the Body Electric (The Twilight Zone), a third-season (1962) episode of The Twilight Zone, written by Ray Bradbury.
# I Sing the Body Electric (Bradbury), a 1969 collection of short stories by Ray Bradbury, including the short story of the same name.
- quite inspiring title eh??
Also, why did you remove your music player?

Tired Angels! One of my favorites. Love the transitions between ballad sounding bits and huge guitar stuff. Very cool.
